An all-party parliamentary delegation from India, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, met with senior Japanese lawmakers and officials in Tokyo on Friday, underscoring India’s firm and unified resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms.

The delegation held discussions with Minoru Kihara, Japan’s former Defence Minister, and Shinako Tsuchiya, Director General of the International Bureau of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). The Indian Embassy in Japan shared that the talks were “fruitful” and reiterated India’s strong anti-terrorism stance.

“Fruitful interaction between All-Party Delegation from India with H.E. Mr. Minoru Kihara… and Ms. Shinako Tsuchiya… India’s strong resolve to fight every form of terrorism was reiterated,” the Embassy posted on X.

Earlier, the Indian MPs met Yasuhiro Hanashi, Acting Chairperson of the LDP’s Research Committee on Counter-terrorism and former Justice Minister of Japan. Both sides expressed a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism, affirming shared concerns over global terror threats.

The delegation also engaged with the Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo, reinforcing India’s unwavering national resolve against terrorism. The Embassy emphasized the delegation’s united voice and firm action in conveying India’s position to global partners.

The visit coincides with the Raisina Tokyo 2025 Inaugural Session, where Indian MPs joined international leaders and policy experts from the Indo-Pacific region. Speakers at the event reiterated Japan’s continued support for India’s fight against terrorism.

The delegation includes prominent MPs across political lines, such as Ambassador Mohan Kumar, BJP MPs Hemang Joshi, Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee.

On Thursday, the delegation also met Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, former PM Yoshihide Suga, and key figures such as Takashi Endo, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on National Security. All reaffirmed Japan’s support for India’s counterterrorism efforts.

Further deepening bilateral cooperation, the Indian MPs engaged with leading Japanese think tanks, outlining India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism. Japanese experts echoed strong support for India’s stand during the discussions.

The delegation’s outreach, which follows India’s Operation Sindoor response to the Pahalgam terror attack, aims to build global consensus and diplomatic alignment around India’s anti-terrorism agenda.

“This all-party delegation reflects India’s national consensus and sends a clear message of unity and zero tolerance to the world,” the Embassy stated.
